Saagar® is actively seeking master franchisees in Ireland and worldwide who have the drive to succeed and proven ability, systems and financial capacity to introduce, support and grow an Irish based franchise in their country of choice.
Started in 1992 and credited with introducing some of the finest India cuisine to the Irish population, Saagar has started offering franchising opportunities in 2010. We are well positioned to take advantage of the exisiting trend towards Indian restaurants. Our restaurants offer all customers the taste of all the diverse communities of India.
All of are dishes are authentic which only use the freshest ingredients and we take pride in providing excellent customer service. We offer a warm, inviting atmosphere for our customers in our contemporary designed restaurants. Saagar’s master franchisees are hard working, results-oriented people who appreciate the benefits of a proven system. Training and Support
Saagar® master franchisees receive about 21 days of initial training, which includes 1 week intensive training, followed by a five day in-shop mentorship, followed by 4 or more days in the first store in the territory prior to and during its initial opening. Extensive additional training and support are provided, including all materials available on line.
We also help you with your location, from assisting you to find the best location for your restaurant to being able to help you secure a property that you couldn’t secure by yourself.
We then project manage your restaurant fit-out as a turnkey solution allowing you to focus on your training. We train you, making you an expert in the Saagar® formula. We help train your team up to the same measured and award winning standards that we have used ourselves. We guide you through the process, and encourage you to harness the same passion about training in your business that we have.
You will benefit from exceptionally strong support and guidance before, during and most importantly, after you open your Saagar® franchise. On top of this we work with you to implement our “more than a restaurant” model helping you to map out a strategy developing your business beyond your traditional shop front and right into the community, maximizing your opportunities.
Finance
The following is a guide to help you understand what you need to budget for.
We have developed good relationships with the main banks and finance companies that will be happy to discuss funding your business. We are happy to introduce franchisees to these contacts at the appropriate time.
Banks will be interested in offering you one of a variety of loan packages, usually secured by equity in your home or other assets you may have. You are likely to be required to invest some cash in the business as part of the funding.
The franchise agreement is for 20 years and renewable for 20 years (subject to terms and conditions).
Saagar Total Franchise Package:

Additional Capital:
Expenditure required for Fit out and other set up costs. As each location will vary in size and condition, therefore these figures are only supplied for guidance purposes. Running a takeaway is considerably cheaper than a restaurant.
€75,000 – €175,000
Ongoing Fees:
Management Support Fee 6% of Net Turnover
Marketing Fee 1% of Net Turnover
Master Franchisee Requirements
To be considered as a potential master franchisee, we require the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience acting as a manager for a restaurant brand that is not competitive with Saagar®
- Proven business skills and existing infrastructure to support your role as a Master Franchisee of our brand in Ireland and worldwide
- Enthusiasm for and ability to fully participate in Saagar’s operational systems
- Dedicated to customer satisfaction
- Willing to devote full-time efforts to building a successful business
- Good communication skills allowing you to enjoy the benefits of successful employee, customer and supplier relationships
- Determination to build your business beyond the bounds of the traditional shop front
